Avain' Alqueam, The Forgotten King

Avain’Alqueam otherwise known as the Forgotten King was once a Nightopian Alchemist and Historian of no small skill gaining his fame through the cataloging and study of artifact and tomes of an ancient race.

However in the course of his research he was corrupted by the knowledge he had found which resulted in him betraying Nightopia and lead to his death, transformation into a Lich, who was eventually defeated, but not before he had changed the face of Nightopia forever.

  Avain’Alqueam appears as skeletal horror with fiery light emanating from his eye sockets and is clad in black robes decorated with ornaments of bone.

The most noticeable of these are three spines rising from his back, each is constructed from a row of bloodstained vertebrae and a skull with glowing eyes sockets is impaled upon the tip of each one.

He also wields a staff topped with a skull that is held in place by a metal clamp, and a mass of thorny vines trail from the underside of the skull, whose eye sockets pulsate with ruby light.

Powers/Abilities/Equipment:

Weapon/Pole arm: His staff contains the very soul of the dryad whose skull sits at the top. As such he can use her abilities to manipulate not only plant life, but also anything made of wood.  Thus even blest weapons or holy icons made from wood may be corrupted or destroyed.

Weapon/ Special: The skulls impaled upon the spikes have the ability to spew twenty-foot streams of flame. The spines can also shed large blobs of blood that transform into blood elementals

Weapon/Special: Fused to his rib cage is the skull of a hunting cat with a red crystal orb wedged tight between its jaws.  Which this device Avain’Alqueam can drain energy from an opponent until their soul is torn from the victims body and sucked into the orb. Not only will he with then gain all of their knowledge and abilities, the soulless body is then turned into puppet under his control. Technically the body is still alive, and there is chance that the soul can be returned to it by striking it with an Ideya. The device will then be flooded with energy and expel the soul.

Forbidden Knowledge:  Avain’Alqueam has both access to restricted forms of alchemy and necromantic knowledge of gleaned from the tomes of the ancient race, and is likely have powerful weapon and regenerative items.

He is also likely to have a number of living and undead monstrosities at his beck and call.
